AV1 4K is a new entry-level model on the Amlogic S905W2 processor with support for 4Kp60 HDR10+, AV1 video codec, YouTube 4K HDR, multi-channel sound, Dolby/DTS, AFR. Memory 2+16 GB, Wi-Fi 2.4+5, Ethernet 100, USB 2.0, Android 11. All the usual functionality of a modern Dune HD media player.

Modern S905W2 media processor with AV1 and 4Kp60 HDR10+
The media player uses the modern S905W2 media processor. It provides excellent image quality, supports 4Kp60 HDR10+ decoding and output, includes the new AV1 video codec, and has good overall performance.
Full 4Kp60 HDR10+ video support
The media player supports 4Kp60 HDR10+ video decoding and 4Kp60 HDR10+ video output. The media player can downscale 4K content to any resolution and upscale any content to 4K resolution. YouTube 4K HDR is supported.
AV1 video codec
The media player supports the new AV1 video codec, which helps improve video quality by up to 50% without increasing the video bitrate (or requiring up to 50% less bitrate for the same video quality). This new video codec is already used by YouTube and will become increasingly important for compatibility with various video services and content sources.
Excellent performance
The media player features a modern CPU (quad-core ARM A35 1.8 GHz) and GPU (Mali G31). This provides improved performance compared to the previous generation of available Dune HD media players.

16 GB flash memory
16GB of flash memory provides ample space for system needs and applications, and also leaves room for internal storage that can be used for any purpose. For example, you can store multimedia files on the internal storage and even share them with your local network via the built-in SMB file server.
HDR10+
The media player supports not only HDR technology, but also the more advanced HDR10+ technology. In conventional HDR technology, the brightness range is set at the beginning of the movie and does not change throughout the movie, so completely dark and completely bright scenes may not have enough detail. In HDR10+ technology, the brightness range can change from frame to frame, so maximum image detail is provided even in scenes that contain only dark or only bright elements.
Enhanced multi-channel audio support
The media player can decode all audio formats (up to Dolby TrueHD Atmos and DTS X) to multi-channel PCM (up to 7.1 channels). The media player can output bitstream for DD/DTS audio formats (5.1 channels).
Android 11
For Android apps, the media player uses the modern version of Android 11. This improves system performance and improves compatibility with the latest Android apps.

Automatic frame rate/resolution switching
The media player can automatically switch the output frame rate and resolution according to the content being played. This helps ensure that the video plays perfectly smoothly and uses the best way to increase the video resolution (upscaling by the media player or TV).
Flicker-free frame rate/resolution switching
Dune HD media players implement their own advanced approach to automatic frame rate and resolution switching without flickering, which performs the video mode switching before the file starts playing (rather than after). Most other media players perform the video mode switching after the file starts playing, which causes unpleasant flickering.
Multi-channel DSD and other advanced music formats
You can play music in a variety of advanced formats, including multi-channel FLAC, WavPack, APE, ALAC, and even multi-channel Super Audio CD (SACD). SACD music files encoded with the advanced DSD audio codec are supported in all popular formats (ISO, DFF, DSF), including stereo and multi-channel files, including files that use DST compression. Multi-channel DSD files can be output to HDMI as multi-channel PCM. Stereo DSD files can be output to HDMI and S/PDIF as stereo PCM.
Optimized OS
Since the media player is not Google Android TV certified, the operating system in the media player is optimized to eliminate unnecessary burdens and limitations. In particular, the media player does not create unnecessary Android folders on connected hard drives, system performance is not degraded by indexing Android files on connected hard drives, etc.
